"Who are you guys?"
We're a couple of guys who earned our PP/SELs a few years back and decided to start a business selling stuff to other pilots who love to fly as much as we do.
"What is 'Green Over Blue'?"
There's a song by Dwayne O'Brien on his Song Pilot CD called "Unusual Attitude" that includes a phrase "My favorite view is green over blue..." as a description of an aerobatic roll. We both really like the album, hence our store's name!
"How can you make money if your prices are so low?"
Well, we run our shop for love, not money. But you still need a credit card to place an order. Neither of us has quit our day jobs, but that's the magic of the Internet: we can fill orders after work and on weekends when we go out to the airport to fly (because that's where our storefront is).
We also use our store as an office for our software development and web design work, which is our other love. That's what really pays the rent.
"What's your customer support phone number?"
We have a toll-free phone number, 888-225-1332. Though we aren't always there to pick up the phone, we do get paged and voice-mailed automatically and will generally call you back as soon as we can.
Since we both work full time as programmers and our boss doesn't want to see us spending his valuable time talking on the phone with our own valuable customers, we try to handle most enquiries by email. We're pretty quick at getting back to customers with questions...try us! "How much is shipping?"
"Do you ship overseas?"
Not at the present time. US and Canada sales are the only ones that can be handled through our credit card processor.
"Do you offer a subscription service?"
Yes! We'll get your charts on your doorstep before the current ones expire, at prices less that anyone else (that we know of).
"Are you both really building airplanes?"
Yep! JohnR is working on his RV-8A (empennage), while JohnW has an RV-9A in the hangar (he's working on his wings right now). You can view our slow progress at our home pages. "Can I special order something, and will you get me a good price?"
It depends. We can special order gear that's not in our store right now, and the price will be as low or lower than anything you can find out there. But if you're looking for a $499 pair of Bose X's, well, you'll have to keep looking. Your best bet is to email us and see what we can do! "I've seen on late-night infomercials that I can make a million bucks running an Internet business. Do you guys want a partner?"
Well, first of all, this is aviation where the only folks with money are those that started with much MORE money. Secondly, don't believe a word you hear on late-night infomercials. But if you DO believe what you see on TV, maybe we should start selling Enzyte.
